Slush Bucket

Growing up in a city where it only snows two inches and stays around for less than 8 hours lends it to be a foreign sight when snow banks the size of me start slopping down storm drains. I was just about to leave the house when my room mate looked at me suspiciously -

"You are going out in those?" One eyebrow raised.

I look down and without hesitation walked back to my room and put my boots on. Now up to my knees in rubber I was ready to face the day. I sloshed through puddles that looked like the same color as the road. Even the snow banks are starting to turn gray. The city is taking back it's somber tones. I wonder when we will hear Mister Softee again.
